Platform Overview

What is Verse?

Verse is an all-in-one digital platform created by MicrotronAI that combines AI help, a browser-based desktop, secure messaging, 3D spaces, and customizable virtual assistants. Think of it as a collection of connected tools that help you work, create, communicate, and explore from one place.

Who is this for?

Verse is designed for everyday users, teams, creators, and businesses. You do not need coding knowledge to use the main features. If you know how to browse a website, upload a file, and click through menus, you can use Verse comfortably.

What is available now vs. what is still growing?

Core products like Verse AI, TRAVERSE and its App Store, COSMOS, Verse-Link, Versona tools, Workflows, Verse Social, Versity, Time Sheets, and account features are already part of the platform experience. Some areas, such as advanced analytics and enterprise expansion features, are still growing and may appear as upcoming or evolving experiences.

If you see something described as upcoming, it means the platform already references it, but the full public experience may still be under development.

Getting Started

Creating Your Account

Go to the Home page and click Register in the Command Center.

Fill in your first name, last name, email address, username, and password.

Create a strong password. The platform expects a password with at least 12 characters, an uppercase letter, a number, and a symbol.

Check your email for a 6-digit verification code or verification message, then complete verification.

Return to the Home page and click Login to sign in.

If your code expires or does not arrive, the platform supports resending a new verification code.

What Happens After You Log In

After logging in, the home page becomes your main dashboard. This is called the Command Center. It is organized into clear groups so you can jump straight to what you need:

  • Development — mainly for technical users, demos, and builder tools.
  • Workspace — your daily-use tools like COSMOS, TRAVERSE, Verse-Link, Time Sheets, and Versona Hub.
  • Resources — news, tutorials, downloads, privacy information, and guided help.

Use the search bar at the top of the Command Center to find cards quickly by keyword.

The Getting Started button on the homepage only appears after you sign in, so first-time guests are not overwhelmed with member-only help links.

Installing the App (Optional)

Verse works in a modern web browser, but you can also install it as an app on your phone, tablet, or computer for faster access and a more app-like experience:

When you visit the site, your browser may show a "Get App" button or prompt.

Click it and follow the on-screen instructions to add Verse to your home screen, taskbar, or desktop.

Open it like a normal app the next time you want to use Verse.

The installed version can feel faster and cleaner than reopening a browser tab, and some basic features remain available even when your connection is limited.

Your Profile & Account Settings

Your profile picture and username appear in the top-left corner of the Home page when you are logged in. From there you can:

  • Click Account to view and edit your profile, subscription, and payment settings.
  • Click Logout in the Command Center to sign out securely.

Verified accounts unlock the normal signed-in experience and help keep communication and account recovery secure.

When You Need Help

  • Click the floating Versona assistant on the home page.
  • Use Ask Question for quick answers.
  • Use Find on Page to locate something on the page you are already viewing.
  • Use Search Website when you know what you want but do not know where it lives.
  • Use Customer Service for more direct support.

Feature Guide

Verse AI (CALM)

Verse AI is the platform’s main chat-based assistant. You can use it like a smart helper for questions, ideas, summaries, writing help, research, and general guidance. It is especially useful when you want answers in plain language without searching the whole site yourself.

What it helps with
  • Answering questions about Verse features and workflows.
  • Helping with creative writing, planning, brainstorming, or basic research.
  • Reviewing documents or pasted text.
  • Following ongoing conversations so you do not need to repeat yourself every time.
  • Using voice input and voice output when available.
Good to know
  • You can upload supported files for extra context.
  • Conversation history may be saved when you are signed in.
  • Some advanced usage may depend on your plan or token usage.

TRAVERSE

TRAVERSE is a fully functional computer workspace that lives entirely in your browser. It replicates a native desktop experience — draggable and resizable windows, file management, a multi-language code editor, Office document viewing, a 3D model viewer, and an on-device AI Copilot sidebar — all without installing anything except a modern browser.

What happens when you open it
  • Loading phase (~3 seconds): Libraries load simultaneously — Three.js (background renderer), jQuery, WebLLM (on-device AI), Ace Editor (code), and PDF.js (document viewer) — while an animated loading bar plays. Your layout preference is remembered from the last session.
  • Layout picker: Choose Desktop mode (classic multi-window layout) or Mobile mode (single-focus optimized view). You can switch at any time from the toolbar.
  • Window management: Open multiple apps as draggable, resizable floating windows. Use snap layout buttons to tile two windows side-by-side — similar to Windows multitasking. Minimize, maximize, and close each window independently.
  • Code editor (Ace Editor + Prism.js): Full syntax highlighting across 16+ programming languages with auto-indentation, bracket matching, line numbering, and a live HTML/CSS preview pane that updates as you type.
  • AI Copilot sidebar: Runs a language model entirely on your device using WebLLM — no data leaves your machine for this feature. Choose from Phi-3, Qwen2, Mistral 7B, or Gemma-2b-it. Ask it to explain functions, find bugs, refactor code, compare diffs, or summarize a file.
  • Document support: Open PDF files (PDF.js), Word .docx (Mammoth.js), Excel .xlsx spreadsheets, and PowerPoint .pptx presentations — all rendered in-browser without needing Microsoft Office installed.
  • 3D model viewer: Load GLB 3D models with orbit, pan, and zoom controls, ambient lighting, and post-processing shader effects (SSAO, vignette, color correction).
  • File transfers: Drag and drop local files into the workspace, or download workspace files back to your computer.
On-device AI models (no server, no data sent)
  • Phi-3 (Microsoft) — Fast, compact, excellent for code tasks and structured reasoning.
  • Qwen2 — Strong multilingual support and analytical reasoning.
  • Mistral 7B — Well-rounded instruction-following for general and creative use.
  • Gemma-2b-it (Google) — Lightweight instruction-tuned model, runs well on lower-end hardware.

On-device AI (WebLLM) requires WebGPU — available in Chrome 113+, Edge 113+, or Safari 18+. Without GPU support the AI Copilot routes requests to the backend server instead. A dedicated graphics card considerably speeds up local inference.

COSMOS

COSMOS is an immersive 3D world platform built on the A-Frame web framework. Entire virtual worlds run inside a standard browser tab — no plugins or app downloads required. VR headsets and WebXR-compatible phones can enter a fully spatial walk-around mode for real room-scale presence.

What COSMOS is best for
  • Virtual meetings: Host a session inside a 3D room you control — attendees join by opening a shared link, no software install needed.
  • Product showrooms: Import 3D product models in GLB format and let visitors orbit, zoom, and examine them at any scale from any device.
  • Digital twins: Create a virtual copy of a real office, production facility, or location for remote training, walkthroughs, and inspections.
  • Social and creative spaces: Build public worlds where Verse users gather, chat, and interact around shared 3D content.

How worlds work technically
  • Navigation: WASD + mouse on desktop, touch gestures on mobile, gamepad controller — or on camera-equipped devices, MediaPipe hand tracking lets you reach out and interact with objects using real hand gestures.
  • 3D models: Import any GLB format model — furniture, architecture, machines, characters, props. Scale, reposition, and animate them after import.
  • Post-processing pipeline: Bloom (glowing lights), SSAO (contact shadow depth), FXAA (smooth edges), ambient occlusion, color grading, and vignette run automatically. Every world has a cinematic visual quality by default — no manual shader work required.
  • World visibility: Set to Public (any signed-in user can enter) or Private (invitation-only — you send the link).
  • Verse Script (advanced): Add interactive behaviors — proximity triggers, click events, scripted animations, conditionally shown information panels — to make worlds respond to visitors.
  • Versona NPCs: Place your Versonas inside any world. Visitors can hold full AI conversations with them without leaving the 3D environment.
  • WebXR spatial mode: On supported headsets (Meta Quest, etc.) click the WebXR button to enter the world as a spatial, head-tracked environment with full scale and depth.

COSMOS automatically scales effect quality (particle density, shadow resolution, bloom intensity) based on your device GPU to maintain smooth frame rates on all hardware.

Verse-Link (Messaging & Video)

Verse-Link is the platform's full-featured communication hub — not just text chat, but also video conferencing, screen sharing, in-browser voice message recording, and AI call participants, all accessible from a single interface without installing anything.

  • Add a Versona to a live video call as an AI participant — it appears in the grid like any other attendee.

Attachment support

Message history persists when you are offline. When you reconnect, your inbox syncs automatically via SignalR without any manual action.

Versona Hub

Versona Hub is where you build and manage personalized AI virtual assistants called Versonas. A Versona has its own 3D avatar, personality, voice, knowledge base, and a full animation set — it behaves like a branded, intelligent digital character rather than a generic chatbot, and can be deployed across multiple Verse surfaces or embedded in external apps.

Full step-by-step creation workflow
  • Step 1 — Name & purpose: Give the Versona a name and describe its role — customer support agent, brand ambassador, educational guide, etc.
  • Step 2 — Upload 3D model: Provide a GLB format character model (up to 800 MB). No model? A default placeholder is used so you can test immediately and add a model later.
  • Step 3 — Select voice: Choose from Azure Neural Voices such as en-US-JennyNeural, en-GB-RyanNeural, or accents in other languages. The selected voice is used for all TTS responses.
  • Step 4 — Define traits: Add comma-separated personality trait tags like "friendly, professional, concise, curious". Every sentence generated by the Versona is shaped by these traits.
  • Step 5 — Upload reference files: Attach PDFs or text documents that become the Versona's private knowledge base via Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). It searches these files before answering any question — so it answers about your content, not just general training data.
  • Step 6 — Map animations: Assign named animation clips from your GLB model to 16 behavioural states: idle, walk, dance, greeting, sit, cheer, run, jump, happy, sad, surprise, lay down, angry, tired, thinking, and confused.
  • Step 7 — Enable tools: Optionally give the Versona access to web search (live lookups during conversations), a calculator, or other integrated tools.
  • Step 8 — Deploy: Save and publish to COSMOS, embed as a web widget component, connect via the Socket.IO real-time API for external integrations, or export as packaged files.
Export options
  • Realm export: Packages the model and config for direct placement in a COSMOS world.
  • Web export: Provides the files needed to embed the Versona as an interactive widget on any external webpage.
  • Complete ZIP export: Downloads everything — model, configuration JSON, reference files, and deployment manifests — in one archive.
Developer / real-time API access
  • Any Versona is accessible via the Socket.IO real-time API — external apps can authenticate, send prompts, specify which tools to use, and stream token-by-token responses.
  • API keys for this are managed in Developer Settings under your account.

Reference file indexing and large model uploads may take extra processing time. Creating a Versona with large knowledge bases draws from your VXT token balance depending on your plan.

Realyfe 3D QR Codes

Realyfe 3D QR Codes bridge the physical and digital world. When someone scans your QR code, instead of being taken to a flat webpage, they see an interactive 3D model right on their phone or AR device — no app download required. The viewer is automatically matched to the best AR framework their device supports.

  • Upload your 3D model: Add a GLB format model to your profile. Each model gets a unique profile ID that anchors the QR code.
  • Customize the QR Code: Adjust colors, dot patterns, corner styles, and eye shapes, then download as a high-resolution PNG.
  • Deploy it anywhere: Print on product packaging, signage, business cards, trade show banners, or museum placards.
  • A visitor scans it: The scanner page reads the profile ID and detects the viewer's device capabilities automatically.
  • Smart AR viewer selection:
    • iOS (iPhone / iPad): Uses Apple QuickLook — the native, best-quality AR experience on Apple hardware.
    • Android: Uses Google Scene Viewer with ARCore — places the model on real surfaces in AR.

Voice Assistant (Text-to-Speech)

The Voice Assistant uses Microsoft Azure Neural TTS to convert any written text into natural, human-quality spoken audio — then plays it back in your browser or lets you download it as a file for use anywhere. The same engine powers all Versona voices, so you can preview exactly how your Versona will sound before committing to a voice.

Step-by-step workflow
  • Type or paste your text into the input area — paragraphs, scripts, announcements, article excerpts, or anything you want spoken.
  • Select a neural voice from the dropdown — options include multiple genders, English accents (US, UK, Australian), and voices in other languages such as Spanish, French, German, and Japanese (e.g., en-US-JennyNeural, en-GB-RyanNeural).
  • Set the speech rate between 0.5× (slow) and 2× (fast) using the slider — useful for audio descriptions or fast narration previews.
  • Click Generate — your text is sent to Azure Speech Service, synthesized server-side, and streamed back to the browser.
  • A player control appears with Play, Pause, and Stop. The background animates with a Three.js star-field while audio plays — giving the interface a sci-fi audio studio feel.

Time Sheets

Time Sheets is a focused weekly time-tracking tool. Select a project, set a weekly target, and log hours day by day — either by using the live timer or entering values manually. A visual circular progress indicator makes it easy to see at a glance how close you are to your weekly target, and a milestone animation plays when you hit 100%.

Day-to-day workflow
  • Select a project: Choose from your project dropdown — projects you manage are listed alphabetically.
  • Set your weekly target: Enter a maximum hours value (e.g., 40 hours per week) to calibrate the progress indicator.
  • Use the live timer: Click Start when you begin a task — the timer runs in real time and writes elapsed hours to today's column automatically when you click Stop. This means no mental math for billing.
  • Or log manually: Enter hours directly into any of the Monday–Friday columns if you prefer to record at the end of the day.
  • Circular SVG progress indicator: An animated ring shows logged hours as a percentage of your weekly target, updating in real time as you adjust values.
  • Milestone animation: A full canvas confetti animation plays when you reach 100% of your weekly target — a satisfying, visible signal that the week is complete.
  • Submit on Friday: The Submit button is only enabled on Fridays — this enforces a weekly cadence and prevents mid-week accidental submissions.

Versona Assistant (Home Page Helper)

The floating 3D assistant visible on the home page is a live Versona deployed as a custom Web Component — it is your always-available onboarding guide and platform navigator, accessible from every page without needing to open a separate product. It remembers the last few turns of your conversation so related follow-ups work naturally.

Four modes — what each one does
  • Ask Question: Type any question about the platform or a specific feature — the assistant searches its internal knowledge base and responds in plain language. Handles follow-up questions within the same session without losing context.
  • Find on Page: Highlights elements on the current visible page that match your keyword — useful when you can see something but cannot scroll back to locate it.
  • Search Website: Runs a cross-page search when you know what you want but are not sure which section or page it lives on.
  • Customer Service: Routes you to direct support options for account issues, billing, subscription problems, or technical faults that the assistant cannot resolve on its own.
Technical notes
  • The 3D avatar scales responsively — 0.3× on small phones, 1× on tablets, up to 1.5× on large desktop displays — so it never obstructs your content.
  • It uses the same Azure Neural TTS voice engine as the Voice Assistant — all spoken responses use real neural synthesis, not robotic text-to-speech.
  • The Web Component architecture means it loads once and persists across all platform pages without re-initializing.

Verse Analyze (Interest Mapping)

Verse Analyze is an AI-powered interest profiling tool. You provide social media usernames and optional interests, and the AI builds a visual map of interconnected topics — helping you understand patterns in your digital footprint or in the audience you are trying to reach.

    • Core interests (cyan): Clearly confirmed from your social activity.

Verse Circuit (Circuit Diagram Generator)

Verse Circuit is an AI-assisted schematic tool that turns text descriptions or pre-built templates into interactive, export-ready circuit diagrams — instantly and without specialized CAD software.

How it works
  • Choose a pre-built circuit template — resistor networks, amplifier circuits, logic gates, filter circuits, and more — or type a plain-English description of the circuit you need.
  • The generator renders an SVG schematic with correctly labeled and styled components: resistors, capacitors, inductors, transistors, diodes, op-amps, power sources, and connectors.
  • Components are placed on a 25 px alignment grid for clean spacing. The color scheme uses neon cyan, orange, and purple on a dark background for clarity.

Workflows (Automation Studio)

Workflows is Verse's visual automation builder. You drag nodes onto a canvas, wire them together, and the platform runs the result for you — no code required. A workflow starts from a trigger (a schedule, an incoming webhook, an email or chat message, an app event, or a manual run) and flows through actions like AI calls, data transforms, approvals, and messages to outside services.

Why do I need to verify my email?

Email verification helps protect your account, reduce fake signups, and make account recovery possible later. It is a normal part of the platform’s account security process.

Can I send files in Verse-Link?

Yes. Verse-Link supports image, video, and audio attachments. Individual attachments are limited to 50 MB, and supported types include common formats like JPG, PNG, GIF, MP4, MP3, and more.

Do all users see the same features?

Not always. Some areas are meant for everyday users, while others are meant for developers, administrators, or users with premium access. Your login status and account level can affect what you see.

What if a feature says it is coming soon?

That usually means the platform already includes references to the feature, but the full user experience is still being expanded. It is a sign of what is planned, not necessarily something missing from your account.

How does video calling work in Verse-Link?

Start a call from any conversation — all participants in that conversation receive a call notification and join by clicking it. Verse-Link uses WebRTC for peer-to-peer video and audio, meaning calls are direct between participants rather than routed through a central server, which keeps latency low.

The video grid adapts automatically: one participant fills the screen, two to four share an equal grid, and five or more participants shift to a compact multi-column layout. You can toggle your microphone, camera, and speaker independently at any time. A chat sidebar stays open during the call so you can share links or notes without speaking over each other. You can also add a Versona as an AI participant in any live call.

What subscription plan should I choose?

For most new users, the Starter Pack is a good way to learn the platform before committing. If you use AI tools daily, need Versona creation with large knowledge bases, or use Text-to-Speech frequently, the Silver or Pro Pack will give you enough token headroom to work comfortably without watching your balance constantly.

Can I deploy my Versona on my own website?

Yes. From Versona Hub, use the Web Export option to receive the files needed to embed your Versona as an interactive widget on any external webpage. The Versona appears as a floating 3D assistant that visitors on your site can chat with directly.

For developers who need programmatic access — for example, integrating a Versona into a custom app or backend — the Socket.IO real-time API is available. API keys for this integration are managed in the Developer Settings area of your account. Each query can specify the Versona ID, the user's prompt, which tools the Versona can use, and whether to stream the response token-by-token.

What file formats can I open in TRAVERSE?

TRAVERSE supports a wide range of document and media formats, all rendered inside the browser without needing any additional software installed. You can open PDF files (via PDF.js), Word .docx documents (via Mammoth.js), Excel .xlsx spreadsheets, and PowerPoint .pptx presentations. For 3D content, the desktop includes a GLB model viewer with orbit and zoom controls.

The code editor supports syntax highlighting for 16+ programming languages including JavaScript, Python, C#, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, PHP, Java, Ruby, Go, Rust, SCSS, JSON, and Bash. You can also drag and drop local files from your computer directly into the virtual workspace, or download workspace files back to your device.

What is Verse Analyze and do I need social media accounts to use it?

Verse Analyze is an AI-powered interest mapping tool. You provide social media usernames and optional free-text interests, and the AI builds a visual force-directed graph showing your core interests, predicted interests (with confidence scores), and recommended adjacent topics. It also shows YouTube video recommendations matched to your top interests.

You do not need to be logged into the social platforms yourself — you just enter the usernames as text. However, better results come from providing multiple usernames across different platforms and additional interest keywords to give the AI more signals to work with. If you have no social media presence, using just free-text interests still produces a useful interest map.

How do I check my token balance?

Your VXT token balance is displayed in the header bar across all product pages on the platform. It updates in real time after each token-consuming action. When your balance runs low, the indicator turns red as a visual warning before you run out.

To see a full breakdown of your usage and purchase history, or to buy additional token bundles, go to the Account page from the Command Center and navigate to the Subscriptions or Token section. Purchases are processed through Stripe and credits are applied to your balance immediately after a successful payment.

What AI models power Verse AI (CALM)?

Verse AI uses large language models via the CALM engine on the backend for its main chat, research, and document analysis features. The specific model in use may vary as the platform updates, but the interface remains the same.

TRAVERSE's AI Copilot is different — it runs entirely on your own device using WebLLM (a browser-based GPU inference engine). In TRAVERSE you can choose between Phi-3 (Microsoft), Qwen2, Mistral 7B, and Gemma-2b-it (Google). These models run locally with no data sent to any server, making them a good choice for sensitive code or documents you do not want to share externally.

Can I use Verse offline?

Most Verse features require an internet connection because they depend on real-time data, server-side AI, and live communication. However, Verse is built as a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means a Service Worker caches essential assets on first load. If your connection drops briefly, an offline banner will appear and the platform will continue to serve cached pages.

The exception is the TRAVERSE AI Copilot: once the selected WebLLM model has finished downloading to your browser's cache, the Copilot sidebar can continue working for code-related tasks without an active internet connection — because it runs entirely on your device's GPU.

A Progressive Web App is a website that has been enhanced to behave like a native app. Verse is built as a PWA, meaning you can install it directly from your browser.

  • Your browser shows an “Install” or “Add to Home Screen” prompt — click it.
  • Verse is added to your taskbar, desktop, or phone home screen and opens in its own window without a browser toolbar.

RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
RAG is an AI technique that lets the system answer questions by searching a private set of documents first, then using that retrieved content to form its reply. Verse uses RAG to power Versona knowledge bases.

Realyfe 3D QR Codes are standard QR codes that, when scanned, open an interactive 3D model experience instead of a plain web page.
  • Create a Versona or upload a GLB 3D model to your profile.
  • Generate a QR code that links to that model's unique profile ID.
  • Print the QR code on packaging, marketing materials, or a poster.
  • A customer scans it with their phone — the platform detects whether their device supports iOS QuickLook, Android Scene Viewer, or WebXR, then launches the best AR viewer automatically.
  • The 3D model appears on their screen with post-processing effects (outline, bloom, depth of field).

Reference Files
Reference Files are documents you upload to a Versona to give it specialized knowledge. Without them, a Versona answers only from its general training. With them, it can answer using your own content.
  • Supported formats include PDF and plain text files.
  • Files are stored in wwwroot/Uploads/references/ and indexed into a vector store for semantic search.
  • You can add or remove files at any time from Versona Hub — the knowledge base updates immediately.

Processing large files or many documents may take a short time before the Versona begins using the new content.

SignalR
SignalR is a real-time communication library built into the .NET backend that Verse uses. It keeps a persistent connection between your browser and the server so messages and events arrive instantly without you needing to refresh.
  • Verse-Link (chat) uses SignalR to deliver messages, typing indicators, and read receipts in real time.
  • Online status updates (who is currently active) are broadcast through SignalR to all connected clients.
  • If WebSocket connections are unavailable, SignalR falls back to Server-Sent Events or long-polling automatically.
Token / VXT Token
A Token (also called a VXT Token) is the platform's internal usage unit. Certain AI-powered or compute-intensive features draw from your token balance rather than counting against a simple limit.
  • Tokens are consumed by actions like long AI conversations, Versona creation with large reference files, text-to-speech generation, and advanced video call features.
  • Your current balance is always visible in the token indicator on the header bar — it turns red when running low.

COSMOS
COSMOS is the immersive 3D side of the platform. It is built on the A-Frame web framework, meaning entire 3D worlds run inside a standard browser tab with no download required.
  • Click COSMOS in the Workspace column.
  • Choose an existing world to explore or create a new one.
  • Navigate the environment using keyboard, mouse, touch, or — on supported devices — hand gestures tracked by MediaPipe.
  • Set your world to Public (open to all) or Private (invite only).
  • Import 3D models (GLB format) to populate your space.
  • Add interactive behaviors or logic for more advanced worlds.
  • Place Versonas inside your world so visitors can interact with AI-powered guides.
  • On WebXR-capable devices, activate immersive mode for a more life-like walk-through.

Post-processing effects (bloom, SSAO, ambient occlusion, color grading) are applied in the shader pipeline to give worlds a cinematic look.

Verse Script
Verse Script is the logic layer for COSMOS. It is syntactically similar to JavaScript and lets you attach custom behaviors to objects in your world — things like opening doors when a user approaches, triggering animations on click, or showing information panels.
  • Attach scripts to any object in your Realm world through the world editor.
  • Use event hooks like onEnter, onClick, and onProximity to trigger actions.
  • Access world state, user position, and object properties through a built-in API.

Verse Script is optional and intended for advanced users who want more dynamic or game-like world experiences. Basic worlds do not require any scripting.

Verse Suite (Download)
Verse Suite is the downloadable desktop application for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It wraps the Verse web experience in a native app window for faster launch and a more focused environment.
  • Available from the Download Suite card in the Resources column.
  • Builds are provided for Windows, macOS, Linux, and VR platforms.
  • The app launches directly to your Command Center without opening a new browser tab.
  • Used regularly, it can feel more integrated with your operating system than a browser tab.
Versona
A Versona is your own personalized AI assistant — a digital character with a custom 3D appearance, unique personality, a private knowledge base, and a voice. It behaves like a branded chatbot but with far more depth and customization.
  • Give it a 3D model (GLB format, up to 800 MB) — or use a default shape if you do not have one yet.
  • Define personality traits (e.g., “friendly”, “professional”, “concise”) that influence every response it gives.
  • Upload reference files so it answers using your own content via RAG.
  • Choose a neural voice for spoken replies.
  • Configure 16 animation states: idle, walk, dance, greeting, sit, cheer, run, jump, happy, sad, surprise, lay down, angry, tired, thinking, and confused.
  • Enable optional tools such as web search or a calculator.
  • Deploy it in COSMOS, embed it in a web page, or connect it via the real-time Socket.IO API for custom applications.

Versona Hub
Versona Hub is the management interface where you create, edit, and organize all of your Versonas from one place.
  • Open Versona Hub from the Workspace column.
  • Click Create to start a new Versona — a multi-step form guides you through name, description, model upload, voice, personality, and knowledge base.
  • Manage existing Versonas from the card grid — click Edit to change any setting at any time.
  • Export a Versona as a GLB model, a JSON configuration file, or a complete ZIP archive containing everything needed to redeploy it.
  • Update just one voice setting with the quick-patch endpoint without re-uploading the whole model.

All Versona management actions require a valid login session (JWT token). Creating or uploading large models may take a moment to process on the server.

WebGPU
WebGPU is a modern browser API that gives web pages direct access to your device's GPU for high-performance 3D graphics and AI computation. Verse uses it in two key areas.
  • 3D rendering: Advanced post-processing shaders (FXAA, SSAO, vignette, color correction) inside COSMOS and the Desktop's 3D viewer run significantly faster with WebGPU than with older WebGL.
  • On-device AI: WebLLM (used in TRAVERSE's Copilot sidebar) uses WebGPU to run language models like Phi-3 and Mistral 7B fully in your browser — no data is sent to a server for those local inferences.

If your browser does not support WebGPU, these features fall back gracefully — 3D still renders via WebGL and AI analysis is routed to the backend instead.

WebLLM
WebLLM is an open-source library that runs large language model inference entirely inside your browser using WebGPU. TRAVERSE uses WebLLM to power the AI Copilot sidebar without sending your code to an external server.
  • Models available: Phi-3, Qwen2, Mistral 7B, and Gemma-2b-it.
  • On first use the selected model is downloaded and cached in your browser — subsequent loads are instant.
  • Analyze code, explain functions, find bugs, or compare diffs entirely on your own hardware.

WebLLM requires a GPU-capable browser with WebGPU enabled. On devices without a GPU, backend AI is used instead.

Web Component
A Web Component is a self-contained, reusable HTML element that encapsulates its own structure, style, and behavior. The home page Versona assistant and the offline banner are both built as Web Components.
  • They are added to a page with a single custom HTML tag (e.g., <offline-banner>) and work without extra setup.
  • This approach keeps the assistant widget consistent across all pages without copy-pasting code.
  • Behaviors like the assistant voice, animations, and help menus are all scoped inside the component and cannot conflict with page styles.
WebXR
WebXR is a browser standard that lets websites deliver immersive Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) experiences using devices like headsets, phones, and tablets — no app download required.
  • In COSMOS, clicking the WebXR button enters an immersive mode if your device supports it.
  • The 3D QR Scanner uses WebXR as a fallback AR viewer when iOS QuickLook and Android Scene Viewer are not available.
  • On VR headsets, COSMOS worlds become walk-aroundable spatial environments.

WebXR requires Chrome for Android, Firefox Reality, Meta Browser, or a compatible headset browser. Standard desktop browsers can still view 3D worlds but without the immersive mode.

World
A World is a self-contained 3D environment inside COSMOS. You can visit worlds created by others or build and host your own.
  • Public worlds are open to any signed-in Verse user.
  • Private worlds are invitation-only — you control who can enter.
  • Worlds can range from a simple open space to a richly detailed digital twin with scripted interactions, embedded Versonas, and custom lighting.
  • GLB 3D models can be imported to populate and decorate your world.
  • Post-processing effects (bloom, ambient occlusion, color grading) are applied automatically for a polished visual result.
A-Frame
A-Frame is an open-source web framework for building 3D and VR experiences that run directly inside a browser tab. COSMOS is built on A-Frame.
  1. A-Frame uses a declarative HTML-like component system — 3D scenes are described as HTML elements with attributes rather than imperative JavaScript.
  2. It wraps WebGL (the low-level 3D browser API) so developers and the platform can work at a much higher level without shader programming.
  3. A-Frame scenes run in any modern browser on any device, enabling the same world to work on a laptop, phone, or VR headset without separate builds.
  4. WebXR integration is built in, so clicking the VR button in an A-Frame scene transitions the user to an immersive spatial mode on compatible hardware.

Developer API Keys
Developer API Keys are unique authentication tokens that allow external applications to interact with Verse services — particularly the Versona Socket.IO real-time API.
  1. Generate keys from Developer Settings in your account area.
  2. Include the key in the Authorization header of each API request to authenticate your app.
  3. Each key can be scoped to specific Versonas or feature sets to enforce least-privilege access.
  4. Revoke or rotate keys at any time from the same settings page if a key is compromised.

Never expose API keys in client-side JavaScript or public repositories — treat them like passwords and store them in environment variables or a secrets manager.

JWT (JSON Web Token)
A JWT is a compact, cryptographically signed token that Verse uses to verify your identity on every API request after you log in.
  1. When you log in, the server generates a JWT and returns it to the browser.
  2. The browser stores it in sessionStorage under the key jwtToken.
  3. Every subsequent API call includes the token in the request headers — the server verifies the signature to confirm the request is legitimate without needing to look up a session in a database.
  4. If the token is missing or invalid, protected pages redirect you to the login screen automatically.

JWT tokens expire after a set period. If you are logged out unexpectedly, re-logging in generates a fresh token. This is expected and intentional security behaviour.

MediaPipe
MediaPipe is a Google machine-learning framework used in COSMOS to enable real-time hand tracking via a device's camera — without any hardware sensors or special gloves.
  • The framework detects 21 key hand landmark points (fingertips, knuckles, palm) in each video frame.
  • In COSMOS, these landmarks are mapped to 3D space so pinch gestures, open-palm gestures, and pointing motions become interaction inputs in the virtual world.
  • Works in a standard browser on any device with a front-facing or webcam — no app install, no special hardware beyond a camera.
  • Runs entirely client-side inside the browser — no camera frames are sent to any external server.

Post-Processing / Shaders
Post-processing refers to visual effects applied to a rendered 3D scene after the main rendering pass is complete — similar to Instagram filters but for real-time 3D content.
  • Bloom: Makes bright areas glow softly outward, giving neon elements and lights a luminous halo effect.
  • SSAO (Screen-Space Ambient Occlusion): Darkens crevices and areas where surfaces meet, adding depth and contact shadow realism.
  • FXAA (Fast Approximate Anti-Aliasing): Smooths jagged edges on geometry at low performance cost.
  • Color Grading: Shifts the hue, saturation, and contrast of the final image — used to give worlds a cinematic tone.
  • Vignette: Darkens the screen edges slightly to focus attention on the centre of the scene.

All post-processing in COSMOS runs automatically. Effects are scaled down gracefully on lower-powered GPUs to maintain frame rate.

Service Worker / Offline Mode
A Service Worker is a background browser script that intercepts network requests and can serve cached responses when the network is unavailable. It is what makes Verse a Progressive Web App (PWA).
  1. On your first visit, the Service Worker caches essential HTML, CSS, JS, and image assets silently.
  2. On subsequent visits, these cached assets load instantly from your local device rather than the network — making the platform feel snappier.
  3. If your internet connection drops, the Service Worker serves cached pages and shows the offline banner web component instead of a browser error page.
  4. When your connection is restored, the Service Worker syncs in the background and re-fetches updated content.

Socket.IO
Socket.IO is a real-time, event-driven communication library used in Verse to enable bidirectional, low-latency messaging between the browser and the server.
  • Unlike regular HTTP requests where the browser asks and the server responds, Socket.IO keeps a persistent connection open so either side can send a message at any moment.
  • Verse uses Socket.IO for the Versona real-time API — external developers can connect, send prompts to a Versona, and receive streamed token-by-token responses in real time.
  • The connection automatically falls back from WebSocket to HTTP long-polling if the user's network or browser restricts WebSocket connections.

Stripe
Stripe is the payment processing service used by Verse to handle subscription billing and token bundle purchases securely.
  • When you enter payment details, you are entering them directly into Stripe's secure hosted form — Verse's servers never handle or store raw card numbers.
  • Stripe sends payment events to Verse via webhooks — automated notifications that tell the platform a subscription was activated, renewed, or a one-time purchase was completed.
  • Verse logs these webhook events internally for support and auditing purposes.
  • Refunds, cancellations, and payment failures are all handled by Stripe and reflected in your Account page automatically.

Stripe is PCI DSS compliant — the industry standard for card payment security. Your financial data is protected to the highest commercial standard.

A Workflow is a visual automation you build in the Verse workflow editor: a canvas of connected nodes where data flows from a trigger through actions to a result.
  • Triggers start a run — manually, on a schedule, from an incoming webhook, or when something happens in Verse (like a chat message).
  • Nodes are the building blocks — over 150 types covering AI calls, logic, data transforms, files, approvals, dashboards, and connectors to roughly 100 outside services.
  • Connectors hold your credentials for services like Slack, Gmail, Google Sheets, Notion, and Stripe, encrypted and reusable across workflows.
  • Scheduled and webhook workflows run on the server, so they work even with your browser closed.

  • Four rooms are open today: a General Classroom, a Chemistry Lab with 20 guided quiz-backed projects, a Robotics Bay where you design, wire, code, and simulate your own robot, and a Coding Lab with the Code Campus learn-to-code platform.
  • Administrators can build additional custom classrooms with the XR-Classroom Studio, and members visit them like any built-in room.
